RESEARCH AREAS OF SPECIALTY

Applied mathematics and computation focusing on transportation and energy systems modeling and optimization.
Topics: resilient infrastructure system planning and operation, risk management, smart cities, the interaction of energy and transportation systems, multi-modal transportation, integration of renewable energy with power grid, non-cooperative games over networks
Methodologies: Multi-agent Optimization Problem with Equilibrium Constraints, Spatial Data Analysis, Stochastic/Dynamic/Mixed Integer Programming, Network Modeling, Game Theory, Econometrics

Multiple fully funded Ph.D. positions in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Construction Engineering (CECE), University of Central Florida (UCF) for Spring/Fall 2019. The research areas broadly relate to network modeling and optimization, with applications in smart city, cyber-physical systems, and transportation & power system interactions. The candidates are expected to have a strong background in operations research, data science and/or computer science. Experiences in transportation and/or power system are preferred.
