The 5th World Conference on Structural Control and Monitoring

Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo, Japan
July 12-14, 2010

The 5th World Conference on Structural Control and Monitoring (5WCSCM) will be hosted by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) in collaboration with the International Association of Structural Control and Monitoring (IASCM), ANCRiSST and several scientific organizations in Japan, the United States, Asia, and Europe. This international event will involve over 400 participants, with many travelling from North America, Europe and Asia to attend.

This world conference will successfully bring together engineers, scientists, architects, builders and others interested in the general field of active or hybrid vibration control and structural health monitoring of buildings and civil infrastructure systems. The conference is focused on topics related to building structures, including adaptive structures, intelligent/smart materials and systems, sensor networks, health monitoring and damage detection, actuators, vibration isolation, and hybrid vibration control of civil infrastructure components under the action of earthquakes, wind and man-made loads.

Prof. Yozo Fujino, University of Tokyo, serves as the conference chair.

The 5th International Workshop on Structural Control and Monitoring

Dalian University, Dalian, China
June 4-8, 2008

The 5th International Workshop on Structural Control and Monitoring (5IWSCM) was held June 4-8, 2008 in Dalian, China. The 5th International Workshop on Structural Control and Monitoring, was organized by Dalian University and the International Association on Structural Control and Monitoring (IASCM). This workshop is held every 4 years, and is staggered by two years from each of the World Conferences on Structural Control and Monitoring. The workshops are typically smaller than the world conferences, and in fact, serve as a focused forum to chart new directions in the field. 5IWSC had over 50 participants with participation from 5 regional panels (China, US, Japan, Europe, and Korea).

Past International Workshops

  • 4th International Workshop on Structural Control, New York, NY, 2004
  • 2nd International Workshop on Structural Control, Hong Kong, 1996
