A Welcome Message From the Chair

Dr. Reddi

Welcome to the Web site of the Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering Department at UCF. Our department is blessed with an excellent group of faculty, staff, and outstanding facilities. With concerted and dedicated research efforts such as the Center for Advanced Transportation Systems Simulation (CATSS), Coastal Hydroscience Analysis, Modeling and Predictive Simulations Laboratory (CHAMPS), and Stormwater Management Academy, our faculty and graduate students are poised to assume leadership roles in engineering research and practice. Large-scale initiatives currently under way in construction engineering and water resources areas provide new opportunities for excellence and more compelling reasons to become associated with our department.

Development and preservation of civil and environmental infrastructure is a dire need at the national and global level, and Central Florida certainly offers fertile grounds to address this need. It sure is an exciting time to be a civil engineer!

Our faculty, staff, and I are committed to providing an outstanding learning environment for our students. Whether you are an alumnus, practicing/researching engineer, or parent of a prospective student, I would like to invite you to visit our department and take an active part in our learning community. I would be glad to personally visit with you and share our successes and our vision for the future.

Lakshmi N. Reddi, Ph.D, P.E.
Chair and Professor
