CECE undergraduate students, Kelsey Rodriguez, received an American Chemical Society (ACS) Division of Environmental Chemistry 2019 Undergraduate Award. This is a prestigious award by ACS scientific community.

Ms. Kelsey Rodriguez is one of the outstanding full-time undergraduate students in Environmental Engineering at UCF with an excellent GPA and has been working in Dr. Lee’s Microsensor Biofilm Research laboratory as a volunteer researcher since fall 2017. Ms. Rodriguez is currently a UCF’s student team leader in the 15th annual P3 Award which is a national student design competition for sustainability supported by U.S. EPA. In this project, she is developing a biopolymer-based simple lead detecting sensor in tap water for public safety. Ms. Rodriguez is also an undergraduate teaching assistant in Introduction to Environmental Engineering.
