Florida–Puerto Rico District ITE Student Leadership Summit (SLS) 2026

The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), University of Central Florida Student Chapter, is honored to host the ITE Student Leadership Summit 2026, which will take place on February 6–7, 2026, at the University of Central Florida (UCF). This is a student-led event that aims to bring together transportation students, professionals, and leaders from across the Florida–Puerto Rico District to exchange ideas, foster collaboration, and inspire the next generation of transportation professionals.

What is SLS?

“For students, by students”

The ITE Student Leadership Summit (SLS) is the largest student-led transportation meeting open to students and professionals from all over the US. The First ITE Student Leadership Summit in Florida was held at the University of Florida in 2018. The summits are entirely planned by students, for students. Through the promotion of leadership and professional development, these events aim to guide future transportation professionals. Approximately 100 students, both undergraduate and graduate, typically attend the one-to-three-day events. In addition, ITE’s professional members typically provide support through sponsorships and participation in the summit’s program. Since the first student leadership summit, there have been 12 student leadership summits hosted by ITE student chapters around the U.S., Canada, and the ITE Australian and New Zealand Chapter. More than 1,000 students have participated in these events. They are a source of great pride for both our students and professional members, helping to increase the number of transportation professionals worldwide.

Who is the SLS for?

  • Students who build connections and kickstart their career through networking and competitions.
  • Professionals who invest in students through event sponsorship, connect with the next generation of transportation professionals by sharing their insights, and discover emerging talent at the career fair
