At a research meeting focused on Florida’s Indian River Lagoon, undergraduate researcher Samantha Maldonado won First Prize for her poster titled “Ecosystem Services of Oyster Reef and Vegetated Shorelines: Potential for Blue Carbon Sequestration in a Coastal Lagoon”. Sam is a member of UCF’s Ecohydraulics Laboratory and a participant in UCF’s EXCEL program. Her research mentor is Dr. Kelly Kibler.
