FE EXAM Information
The Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE) regulates the practice of engineering in the State of Florida and is responsible for reviewing applications, administering examinations, licensing qualified applicants, and regulating the practice of engineering throughout the state. Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam is one of the requirements to obtain a professional engineering license. (This exam is overseen and administrated by the FBPE and not by UCF or CECS.)
Basic information on how to register for the FE Exam
The exam is conducted eight (8) months out of the year in four (4) testing exam windows (January-February, April-May, July-August, and October-November) at Pearson Vue Testing Centers. Exams are not administered during March, June, September, and December.
The FE exam must be taken by civil, environmental, and construction engineering majors prior to graduation.
For additional official information regarding the FE and PE Exams, including registration and frequently asked questions, please visit the FBPE website at www.fbpe.org.
What to do after you receive results
Exam results are typically available within 7–10 business days. You will receive an email notification from NCEES with instructions to view your exam results in your MyNCEES account. Results will include a link to your licensing board for additional state-specific information or instructions. All results are reported as pass or fail. If you fail the examination, you will receive a diagnostic report showing your performance for each of the major topics covered on the exam.
