With Orlando being one of the most popular destinations in the World, we are positioned to foster a future that is smart, resilient, and sustainable. Come learn about the City of Orlando’s emerging smart cities initiative, led by Charles Ramdatt and Chris Castro, that is exploring how to incorporate IoT, information and communications systems, and sustainability in a wide-variety of City departments to improve government operations, critical infrastructure, and city services that will ultimately lead to a more intelligent, interconnected, livable, and efficient City.
Charles Ramdatt has over 3 decades of professional engineering and planning experience. For much of the last 14 years, he served as the Transportation Engineer and Deputy Director of Public Works for the City of Orlando. He is currently a consulting engineer who focuses on large infrastructure projects and leading the City of Orlando’s Smart City Team. His experience includes project and construction management, transportation engineering, parking systems management, special event management and intelligent transportation systems. Chris Castro is an award winning sustainability professional, eco-entrepreneur, and community organizer with a passion for accelerating the transition to a smart, resilient and sustainable future. Chris is most notably known for his work as the founder and president of IDEAS For Us, an international nonprofit and United Nations accredited organization working to develop, fund, and scale environmental solutions around the World; and co-creator of the renowned ‘Fleet Farming’ urban agriculture program that started in Orlando.
