The University of Central Florida is dedicated to increasing the prominence of it’s Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering (CECE) Department. Applications are invited for one tenure-track faculty position under the FUTURe CITy – Fostering Smart Urban Transformation and Ubiquitous Resilience with Connected Infrastructure and Technology – initiative housed in the CECE Department. The FUTURE CITy, a Smart City initiative at UCF, is a group of researchers who synergistically explore wide-ranging technological advances towards better serving urban residents. The interdisciplinary research environment, access to rapid metropolitan economic and population growth, and nexus of world-class simulation, space technology and tourism industries co-located in the Central Florida metro region provide unique opportunities to the potential faculty candidate. This initiative will provide a blueprint for urban policymakers and planners to optimally allocate limited resources while meeting sustainability and resilience goals and promoting social justice, equity, and fairness. For more details, visit https://www.cece.ucf.edu/future-city-initiative/. The targeted rank of the successful candidate is at the Assistant Professor level, with preference given to candidates with Post-doctoral or Assistant Professor experience. The position is expected to start in August 2020.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution in an engineering field related to Smart Cities, such as Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science, at the time of appointment.
