RESEARCH

Our research group focuses on testing and characterizations of civil materials such as asphalt, concrete, geomaterials as well as waste materials for resilient and sustainable civil infrastructures. While our group works on diverse and multidisciplinary research, our research goal is to better characterize materials properties and behavior at multi-scale (from nao- to macro-scale). As research tools, both laboratory experiment and computational simulations are being used. The laboratory experiment includes petrographic examinations (i.e. SEM, EDS, XRD, XRF, etc.) as well as bulk-scale physical and mechanical tests while the computation methods include Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulation and Finite Element Model (FEM) analysis.
